Fridays are great days for deliveries…especially when your client loves the final product. We custom designed this commission piece for a client who wanted an adjustable height standing desk for a computer station as well as a work bench for electronics and such. The massive 6 foot x 6 foot red oak desk top and steel base had to be designed into two separate halves in order to fit into the entry way of its new home.
One of the special features was a center notch to smoothly guide power cords through the table and out of the way. And of course we couldn’t resist to butterfly up some small cracks on the surface of the wood.
The two-part design of the steel bases allows for height adjustments from 38″ to 44″ high in 1″ increments and utilizes a simple pull pin system. We had Red Star Ironworks in Millvale handle the fabrication of our base design…and they crushed it.
