We’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with what we can do with reclaimed pallet wood. Our new line of cargo boxes turns the salvaged wood from old shipping pallets into a new and useful product, extending the life of the raw materials. The “Recycle Pittsburgh” paper label is wheatpasted on, so there aren’t any chemical adhesives used either. So far we’re offering two sizes, but we’re also going to creating some larger styles in the near future. The first batch is debuting tonight at Tree Pittsburgh’s Arbor Aid , with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Tree Pittsburgh. They will also be available in our Etsy shop soon.

It’s not too early to start your holiday shopping…and what better gift than a custom handmade cutting board made from local hardwoods? Or just get one for yourself to complement your autumnal entertaining. The warmth of our boards goes perfect with fall cooking and dining. We use only locally sourced lumber, food safe glues and finish our boards in mineral oil & beeswax. The board above features our favorite design style of alternating end-grain and face-grain and is made from walnut & maple (for reference it is 14″ x 12″ x 2″). Prices vary by wood type, size and thickness. Get your holiday orders in now before we get busy! And yes…we make cutting board tabletops too. You can also check our Etsy shop for ideas on other styles of cutting boards that we do.
