We finished up the design on our new ‘baguette board’ and are now offering it in our permanent line of home goods. We eat a lot of bread…seriously, a lot…and decided we wanted to make a cutting board to fit the longer breads that never ever fit on a standard cutting board. The original prototype (shown here) features reclaimed chestnut with cherry ends and walnut splines. Future boards will be featuring a variety of reclaimed and sustainably harvested woods as well as hand rubbed coats of mineral oil. Because of its longer length (28″) we decided to make it hangable for easy storage…and because we think it also just looks great hanging on a kitchen wall. After all, we believe handmade wood products shouldn’t be hidden in cabinets and closets, but kept out in the open to add to the warmth of the home.
